This includes checking brake pads, discs and drums for wear, inspecting and adjusting the brake cables and linkages, and ensuring the hydraulic or mechanical braking system operates smoothly.

Trailer lighting and electricals

When you bring your trailer to us, you can rest easy that we will go through the electrics with a fine-tooth comb. Our standard service tests the lights and indicators for proper function (tail lights, brake lights, side lights, indicators). We also check the wiring and electrical connections for damage or corrosion and replace blown bulbs and faulty fuses.

Wheels and tyres

Tyre tread and grip are crucial for your wellbeing on the road. Don't ignore wear and tear. Bring your trailer to us. As part of your service, we will inspect tyres for wear, tread depth and damage (minimum tread depth of 1.6mm required in the UK). Check tyre pressure and inflate to the recommended level. Examine the wheel bearings for wear or damage. Tighten or replacing wheel nuts as needed.

Structural repairs and rebuilds

The Horsebox Handyman service package includes the inspecting of the trailer body for structural damage, cracks or corrosion. Checking the floor condition, ensuring it is secure and free from rot or damage. Testing the hitch and coupling mechanisms for wear, damage and proper operation. Examining safety chains for damage or rust. Checking the doors, ramps and hinges for proper operation. Ensuring the anti-slip ramp surface is secure and undamaged. Inspecting the internal partitions and fittings for safety and stability.
