Expert horsebox servicing and trailer maintenance

Ensuring the safety of your horsebox or trailer starts with a thorough trailer brake maintenance check. The Horsebox Handyman provides a comprehensive brake inspection and servicing, covering all critical components to guarantee optimal performance. This includes checking brake pads, discs and drums for wear, inspecting and adjusting the brake cables and linkages, and ensuring the hydraulic or mechanical braking system operates smoothly.

When you bring your trailer to us, you can rest easy that we will go through the electrics with a fine-tooth comb. Our standard service tests the lights and indicators for proper function (tail lights, brake lights, side lights, indicators). We also check the wiring and electrical connections for damage or corrosion and replace blown bulbs and faulty fuses.

Tyre tread and grip are crucial for your wellbeing on the road. Don't ignore wear and tear. Bring your trailer to us. As part of your service, we will inspect tyres for wear, tread depth and damage (minimum tread depth of 1.6mm required in the UK). Check tyre pressure and inflate to the recommended level. Examine the wheel bearings for wear or damage. Tighten or replacing wheel nuts as needed.

The Horsebox Handyman service package includes the inspecting of the trailer body for structural damage, cracks or corrosion. Checking the floor condition, ensuring it is secure and free from rot or damage. Testing the hitch and coupling mechanisms for wear, damage and proper operation. Examining safety chains for damage or rust. Checking the doors, ramps and hinges for proper operation. Ensuring the anti-slip ramp surface is secure and undamaged.
